In January of 2006, our parish adopted ECHO (Emergency Care Help Organization) Outreach Ministries of
Tallahassee; throughout the upcoming months and years, we will strive to build a strong relationship with
this fine organization, and support its important efforts to help "the least of our brethren" any way we can.
This was our second year of promoting the "Souper" Bowl Sunday at our parish: an awareness-building event
that draws attention to the plight of the homeless and hungry throughout Tallahassee, throughout the nation,
and throughout the world. Our children are here seen participating in
decorating a big "Souper" pot and painting several "Giving Boxes," which will be used in the long-term for
food collection at our parish (our "ECHO" Sunday ministry). This was a vital day of learning, awareness and
creativity for our children and parents alike!
The decorating was done on Sunday, January 28th, the Sunday before Super Bowl Sunday. The actual event and collection was February 4th.
