In January of 2006, our parish adopted ECHO (Emergency Care Help Organization) Outreach Ministries of Tallahassee; throughout the upcoming months and years, we will strive to build a strong relationship with this fine organization, and support its important efforts to help "the least of our brethren" any way we can. To kick off this relationship, we initiated "Souper" Bowl Sunday at our parish: an awareness-building event that draws attention to the plight of the homeless and hungry throughout Tallahassee, throughout the nation, and throughout the world. Our children are here seen participating in a thought-provoking discussion with Liz Wilson of ECHO, decorating a big "Souper" pot (in which they collected funds on the 5th) and painting several "Giving Boxes," which will be used in the long-term for food collection at our parish (our "ECHO" Sunday ministry). This was a vital day of learning, awareness and creativity for our children and parents alike!
