On September 30th, we received a very special pastoral visit from His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios, our hierarch and spiritual father. The entire parish was grateful and moved to receive His Eminence: his unassuming ways, humility, love and pastoral care were evident in everything he did and said. It was amazing during Liturgy to see the hierarchical throne occupied—to see the icon of Christ the Good Shepherd actualized and made touchable in our midst. After Liturgy, we enjoyed lunch with His Eminence; he shared warm words with our parish and was presented with gifts of love from several of our ministry groups. Here he’s shown feeding our beloved George Condaris birthday cake, enjoying his new FSU sweater (turns out His Eminence is a "Nole"!), and greeting our college students. "Eis polla eti Despota!"
