What better way to end the year than with a celebration of godparents, godchildren, our Sunday School children and graduates? On this beautiful Sunday, godchildren were asked to invite their godparents to Liturgy; as they entered the Narthex, martyrika (witness buttons) were given to each godchild and godparent, reminding them of the powerful spiritual bonds between them. After Communion, personalized certificates were given to each Sunday School child, and special gifts of love were offered to our high school and college graduates. Next, the whole community enjoyed a delicious, home-cooked luncheon and the children retired, shortly after, to a Greek dancing demonstration and some serious volley-ball fun! There is nothing more important to our community than our precious youth! Our entire parish family thanks God each day for this most beautiful of gifts: our youth!
