"Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them. But when Jesus saw it, he was greatly displeased and said to them, ‘Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God" (Mark 10:13-14)

Without a doubt, children were—and are—of the utmost importance to our Lord. During His earthly ministry, He made it clear that children are a true blessing in our lives, that there are spiritual lessons to be learned by witnessing their innocence, pure faith and open-heartedness. As He reminded His disciples so long ago, He reminds us today: our children belong to Him; He wants them kept close to Him; and for those of us who are parents, it is our responsibility to lead our precious little ones to His feet.
